Personal Injury Attorney In El Paso

Whenever you suffer an injury due to someone else’s negligence, it is important to know that you could be entitled to compensation. The damages you could recover have the potential to cover any medical bills you may incur, any property damage as well as pain and suffering. It is important to schedule a case evaluation with an attorney to see what steps you need to take to recover damages.

If you or a loved one have been in an accident, it is important that you consult with a personal injury attorney. Our legal team works on a contingency fee. This means that you do not need to pay us anything when you retain us unless we win your case. At that point, we would take a percentage of compensation as our attorney retainer fee. When working with our law firm, you will have an experienced legal team who has extensive litigation experience and that will use that experience to put you in the best position possible in your accident case. We offer scheduled consultations to help you determine what your next steps need to be.

Personal Injury Statute of Limitations In Texas

In Texas, a person must bring a personal injury action within 2 years of the injury occurring. Although the limit is 2 years, there are some exceptions to the rule that are important to be aware of. Some of those exceptions include:

  • The Age of the Person Injured: If the person who was injured is under the age of 18, then the statute of limitations of 2 years starts when they turn 18. They can bring action before this point, but the clock starts when they turn 18.
  • Sound of Mind: If the person that is injured is of unsound mind, then the statute of limitations will be delayed until that person is of sound mind again.
  • Discovery of Injury: The statute of limitations will begin when the person becomes aware of their injuries from the accident. This rule is commonly applied in cases where a disease develops years after initial exposure to a hazardous situation.

No Fee Unless We Win Your Case

If you decide you want to work with our legal team on your personal injury matter, then it is important to understand the way our attorneys fees work. On personal injury matters, our legal team works on what's called a contingency fee. This means that there is no fee for us to take on your case initially, but if we win your case, then we would take a percentage of the winnings as our attorneys fees. This can be really helpful for people because you don’t have to worry about having money initially in order to get the process started on your case. The first step in retaining our firm is scheduling a case evaluation with one of our attorneys.
